The AASMB has advocated for members, promoted their interests, and worked to ensure the integrity and improvement of important Merino bloodlines. The AASMB has liaised with government and industry leaders, defending breeders’ rights. It also hosted the first World Merino Conference in 1982 which led to the establishment of the World Federation of Merino Breeders in 1986.
Henry and Carol were honoured to attend the 60th Anniversary dinner in Bendigo. Thermoskin came about thanks to stud Merino breeders that Henry met whilst Carol was in her role as Executive Director of the Association. They told him there was a need to protect sheep in harsh weather conditions and, as the product was being developed, many members of the AASMB were instrumental in assisting with trials on their properties which are located in a great variety of climates. They have remained amongst our valued customers for which we sincerely thank them.
